A new Snowden leak indicates that CSEC is monitoring Wifi at airports and maybe elsewhere.

the Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC) used software to target travelers, including Canadian citizens, through the airport’s Wi-Fi connection. The software continued to track them throughout the city, even days after they’d left the airport.

Creepy as hell if you ask me…

Even scarier !!

Using the same software, CSEC was also apparently able to track citizens “back in time,” which provided the intelligence agency with details on where targets were before arriving at the Canadian airport.

All this monitoring is and spying is getting out of hand. I guess the Governments of the world are starting to fear the people.

Though I call bullshit on this next statement , they will say anything to get everyone off their backs.

Canadian spymaster John Forster previously told reporters that the CSEC was not tracking Canadian citizens, at home or abroad. In light of these new revelations, the CSEC was forced to clarify its position to mean that “No Canadian communications were (or are) targeted, collected or used.”

And more funny stuff pertaining to this is that the Canadian Gov’t said all this spying is a lie !!!

Mr. Speaker, last night the CBC aired a misleading report on Canada’s signals intelligence agency, Communications Security Establishment Canada. These documents were stolen by former NSA contractor, Edward Snowden and sold to the CBC by Glenn Greenwald. Canada’s signals intelligence agency has been clear that the CBC story is incorrect, yet the CBC went ahead and published it anyway.

Here are the facts: Before the story aired, CSEC made clear that nothing in the stolen documents showed that Canadians’ communications were targeted, collected, or used, nor that travellers’ movements were tracked.

In addition, CSEC’s activities are regularly reviewed by an independent watchdog who has consistently found it has followed the law.

Why is furthering porn-spy Glenn Greenwald’s agenda and lining his Brazilian bank account more important than maintaining the public broadcaster’s journalistic integrity?

All they are doing is trying to hide the fact that Canadians are getting spied on.

But even better Harpers security advisor says it is completely ok to spy on us , and has no problems with it. You just have to remember what they say and what they do are 2 different things. All they are doing is deflecting the issue. Nobody is actually watching them ! So they are free to do what they want.

“This was not an operational surveillance program. … we weren’t monitoring anyone’s movements,” he told the Senate committee. He explained that CSEC wanted to build a picture of the data signatures of public WiFi spots, such as Internet cafés, hotels and airports.

Some how I just don’t believe him what so ever. He is lying.

It keeps getting worse and worse with the NSA. What are they afraid of ? Not only gets worse it gets creepier … They can get info from computers when it is offline as well.

While most of the software is inserted by gaining access to computer networks, the N.S.A. has increasingly made use of a secret technology that enables it to enter and alter data in computers even if they are not connected to the Internet, according to N.S.A. documents, computer experts and American officials,” The Times’ David Sanger and Thom Shanker wrote. “The technology, which the agency has used since at least 2008, relies on a covert channel of radio waves that can be transmitted from tiny circuit boards and USB cards inserted surreptitiously into the computers. In some cases, they are sent to a briefcase-size relay station that intelligence agencies can set up miles away from the target.

What is even better is that this technology has been in use since 2008 !!! yikes. I guess there is no more privacy in this world anymore.
